Mr. Peter Schutt, (Hendrik Schut) an old, well-to-do and respected citizen of this county, died at his home near Newkirk Monday morning. Deceased, though passing away very suddenly, has long been a victim of Bright's disease. He was a man highly respected by his neighbors and his demise is much regretted. He was a Hollander by birth, a member of the Dutch Reformed church and was 62 years old at the-time of his death. THE HERALD extends its sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
(First of all this is believed to be an error, the deceased was Hendrik Schut not Peter Schutt. Hendrik was born 30 Jan 1839 Neth. and died 23 Jul 1900 Newkirk IA.
They are listed in the Newkirk cemetery as father Schut no dates. And mother Schut born 1846 and died 1926. That mother was the 2nd wife of Hendrik Schut Hendrikje Uit de Bulten. His first wife was Aaltje Vanden Berg she died Oct 2, 1886. children born to them according to the VandenBerg book by Wilma J. Vande Berg were Aaltje Mrs. John Klomp, Hendrika Mrs. John DeMots, Gerrit Jan Schut, Carrie Mrs. William DeKraai, John Schut, Nell Mrs. Johannes Tubergen, William, and Grace Mrs. John Eernissee.)
