Peter Harkema,a young man 24 years of age, died last Saturday evening at the home of a relative in the west part of town. He. came here from Holland five months ago and was working to earn the money to bring his parents to this country. Four weeks ago he was taken sick with inflammation of the bowels which resulted in his death. This will indeed be sad news to the old parents in the Netherlands. The funeral was held Monday afternoon.

(On www.genlias.nl found a Pieter Harkema, born May 10, 1876 at Barradeel Friesland Netherlands to Sippe Harkema and Sijke Hofma, these could well be the parents of Peter as he was the only child with that data born from 1874-1878.)
