Mrs. G. De Vries died Monday evening at her home in the extreme western portion of the city. Deceased had been sick for some time, but her death was rather unexpected. She was 65 years of age and leaves only a husband and one granddaughter to mourn her demise. The family have lived in Orange City and vicinity many years. The funeral will be held from the Christian Reformed church, Thursday afternoon, of which she was a devoted member, conducted by Rev. E. Breen.
(This lady the third wife of Gerben DeVries was Aafke Jasper, she married Gerben O. DeVries Apr 29, 1887 Orange City it was her second marriage. Her maiden name was Groot. Her first husband has not been determined or if she had children with him.

Gerben second of three wives was Jitske Jans Zwier born 1834 Langezwaag, Opsterland Fr. died 1883 Neth. She married Gerben Oedzes De Vries 29 yrs on 22 Sep 1860 at Smallingerland Friesland. She was the daughter of Jan Harmens Zwier and Lolkjen Jacobs Beulakker. She was the second wife and mother of five children one was stillborn. Attje, Jan, Lolkje, and Oeds.

Gerben’s first wife was Geeske Hendrika DeBoer1834-1859.
