Loretta S., infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Weis, died Saturday morning after a few days illness with bronchitis; the little one was eighteen months of age and leaves a sadly vacant place in the home; with the parents only those who have so been bereaved can truly sympathize. The funeral was held Monday morning at St. Mary's church
(Lorreta aka Laura S. Weis is recorded as having died Jan 19, 1901 at 1 yr 6 mo and 13 days in the Sioux county death records. The 1900 census lists the family of John Weis born Oct 1865 Iowa living in Nassau tsp Sioux County married to Anna age 29 in 1900, they had two children Irene 2, and Laura 10 mo. There is a family story in the St. Mary’s church book. John Weis born 1864 and his wife Anna born Dec 25, 1870, they had four children Irene, Cyril, Gerald and Harold. John died 1864 and Anna died May 12, 1863. )
