After a lingering illness of two years Mrs. Jacob VanDiepen passed to the great beyond Monday morning at her home south of town. The tender regard in which Mrs. VanDiepen was held by her scores of friends was shown by many beartiful floral tributes. She leaves to mourn her untimely death a husband and three children who have the sympathy of the entire community.
(In the 1900 census Jake VanDiepen was 43 years born 24 May 1858 and he died 1 Dec 1939 buried at Boyden, IA. His wife Dina listed as Philis in the 1900 census was born 21 Aug 1863 died 12 aug 1901 Boyden IA. They were living in Capel Tsp. Sioux county IA. They had been married 9 years and had three children - Sela 8, Susa 6 and Sipra 4.)
