On Saturday morning occurred the death of Mrs. Slade who had rented a furnished room at Mrs. Eva Schaber's residence. The lady recently came here from Omaha thinking the different climate and air here might benefit her health, but instead of improving she became steadily worse
until on Saturday morning early she quietly passed away. She had been a sufferer from asthma with consumption complications. She was evidently
a lady of refinement and made many friends during her brief stay in Hudson, She had no relatives to send word to and her remains were
laid peacefully away in the Eden cemetery late on Saturday afternoon. Peace be to her ashes.
