Miss Sadie Visser, age 86, of Sioux City, formerly of this area, passed away Sunday, September 4, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, after a short illness.
Sadie A. Visser was born October 1, 1896, at Orange City, the daughter of Dick Visser and Gertrude Vander Schaaf Visser. She moved with her family to Doon, and later enrolled in business college at Fort Dodge. She then returned to this area, and was employed by the First National Bank of Sioux Center for several years. She later became a realtor in Sioux City, retiring many years ago.
Miss Visser was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sioux City and had been active in the church women's organizations.
Survivors include six sisters, Stella Ross of Mankato, Minnesota; Hendrene Graham of Hull; Dorothy Jantzen of Rock Rapids; Edythe Young of Albert City; Gertrude O'Neill of West Lake Village, California; and Geraldine Bosaker of Downey, California; and two brothers, Donald Visser of West Lake Village, California; and Perry Visser of Buena Park, California.
Miss Visser was preceded in death by one sister, Bessie Van't Hul; and two brothers, Arthur and Henry Visser.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 7, at the American Reformed Church in Hull with the Rev. Herman Van Galen officiating. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery, under the direction of Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home of Hull.
