Mrs. Myron Mason died at her home near Carnes at eleven-thirty Saturday night at tho age of sixtyfour.
Mrs. Mason's maiden name was Susanna Cambier and she was born March 26 1840 at Zuidsande province of Zeeland Holland. She was married to Myron Mason of the same place May 16 1868. After being married one year they moved to America settling at Port Gibson New York July 4, 1869. They resided at Port Gibson until 1889 when they moved to Sioux county where they have ever since lived. Three children survive her Myron aged twenty-six, Jacob aged twenty-five and John aged twenty-three. No other children were born to them.
Three sisters suryive her. Mrs. A. Leenhouts two miles southeast of Alton, and Mrs. Peter Adriaanson and Mrs. John Cramer of Marion New York. Her only brother John Cambier died last February. Her three children were all present at her bedside at the time of death. Her sickness had lasted about six years the disease being dropsy and heart trouble. She was being operated upon every three or four weeks and last Friday and Saturday complained of the heat a great deal. Saturday afternoon she fell into an unconscious slumber at about five o'clock. Dr.
Smith was called and said she was passing away. Funeral services were conducted early Monday morning by Rev. Lepeltak at the house and the
Reformed church and burial took place in the Alton cemetery.
