Mrs. Herman Schreur
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 30, at the First Reformed church in Orange City
for Mrs. Herman Schreur. She died October 26, 1956, at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 19
days.
Rev. H. Colenbrander conducted the memorial rites.. Interment was in the Orange City cemetery with Van Etten funeral home in charge of all arrangements.
She was born one mile south of Orange City on November 7,1878 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kleinhesselink. She was one of nine children. Five brothers preceded her in death. One sister and two brothers are still living. Minnie Kleinhesselink was married to Herman Schreur on March 15, 1900. They lived one mile south of Orange City the first year and in 1901 moved to a farm north of Alton where they-lived until 1918 when, they moved to Orange City. Five children were born to this union. One son died in-infancy, and a daughter at the age of about three years.
She is survived by her husband and three children: Edward of Orange City, (Edna) Mrs. Pierce
De Jager of Orange City,. and (Esther) Mrs. Dick Stander of Alton.
There are seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Herman Schreur passed away Friday afternoon at her home in Orange City after suffering from a complication of ailments for sometime. Mrs. Schreur, nee Minnie Kleinhesselink, was born November 7, 1878, the daughter of the late Joe Kleinhesselink and Dena (Haremelink) Kleinhesselink of Orange City. Mrs. Schreur was born, reared and lived her entire life in this vicinity. After her marriage March 15, 1900, Mr. and Mrs. Schreur farmed one year near Orange City, and later moved to a farm at Alton where they lived for 16 years, retiring to Orange City in 1918. Mr. and Mrs. Schreur were the parents of five children, two of whom preceded in death; Dorothy at the age of 3 years and Raymond, an infant.

Surviving besides her husband are Edward Schreur; Edna, Mrs Pierce De Jager; and Esther, Mrs. Dick Stander, all of Orange City and vicinity. There are seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One sister Hattie, Mrs. Al De Boer, and two brothers, Charley and Henry Kleinhesselink, all of Orange City, survive. Five brothers preceded her in death, John, Gerrit, Edward, Fred, and Willie. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Reformed church of which the departed was a member, with Rev. Henry Colenbrander officiating. Interment was made in the local cemetery with the Van Etten Funeral Service in charge. A grandson, Donley Schreur, who is in service in California, was unable to attend his grandmother's funeral.
