Funeral services for Nettie Verdoorn will be held Friday, July 24, at 10 a.m. in the Alton Reformed Church. Rev. Ray Tilstra will officiate and interment will be in Nassau Township Cemetery under direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nettie Verdoorn, 85, died Tuesday at the Heritage House in Orange City. She was born October 26, 1895, at Appeldoorn, the Netherlands, the daughter of Dick and Nettie (Scholten) Vink. She came to the United States at the age of nine and married John Fedders in 1913. He preceded her in death in January of 1937.

She married Dick Verdoorn October 25, 1946 at Alton. The couple lived in the Orange City vicinity and moved to the Pioneer Home in 1973. Later she became a resident of the Heritage House. She was a member of the Alton Reformed Church.

Survivors include: husband, Dick, two sons, Dick Fedders, Sheldon; Gerald Fedders, Glenwood, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Jay Pruis (Bernice) of Morrison, Ill.; Mrs. Henry Mellema (Nettie), Orange City; Mrs. John Maassen (Marie), Maurice; Mrs. Frank De Haan (Johanna), Hudsonville, Mich.; step-daughter, Mrs. Arie Mans (Alice) of Orange City; sister, Mrs. Peter Kallemeyn (Henrietta) of Denver, Iowa; thirty grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a step-daughter, four brothers and two sisters.
