Hawarden Independent, July 28, 1927

John M. Daley, a former well known Hawarden resident, died recently at the home of his eldest daughter, Mrs. A. Hammerer, E. 1 - 32nd St., Milwaukee, Wis., according to word received by The Independent from Mrs. Hammerer, who was formerly Miss Kittie Daley. Three weeks following his death, his youngest daughter passed away suddenly following the birth of a daughter. She also leaves one daughter one year old. She died at the age of 22. There are three daughters and one son left to mourn their loss. Mrs. Daley died in Hawarden twenty-two years ago.

Mr. Daley and family lived in Hawarden for a good many years but the family left here shortly after the death of Mrs. Daley. He was engaged in the painting and paper hanging trade here and had many old friends here who will learn with regret of his death followed so closely by the death of his daughter.
