WILLIAM VAN KLOMPENBURG
Born: June 25, 1910; Orange City, Iowa
Passed Away: February 18, 1999; Hull, Iowa
Age: 88 years, 7 months, 23 days
Funeral Service: February 22, 1999; Calvary Christian Reformed Church, Orange City, Iowa
Interment: West Lawn Cemetery, Orange City, Iowa
William was the son of Jan (John) and Dirkje (Mulder) Van Klompenburg. He attended a country school and then worked on his father's farm. On February 14, 1935, he married Johanna Bloemendaal in rural Alton. They farmed in the Orange City area. He also did much custom farm work. In 1977, they retired into Orange City. They spent 23 winters in Mission, Texas. "Bill" was a member of the Calvary Christian Reformed Church. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and gardening.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter and her husband LaDonna and Kenneth Huisman of Hospers; two sons anc their wives, Darrell and Cheri Van Klompenburg of Chandler, Arizona; and Marlo and Carol Van Klompenburg of Pella; eleven grandchildren, Lyle Huisman, Deb Korver, Brian Huisman, Wayne Huisman, Jana Shea, Elessa Marker, Deron Van Klompenburg, Faith Van Klompenburg, Chad Van Klompenburg, Mark Van Klompenburg, and Matthew Van
Klompenburg; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dick Van Klompenburg of Orange City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandchild, Craig Van Klompenburg; six brothers, John, Ike. Jacob, Gerrit, Henry, and another Jacob in infancy; and two sisters, Grace Vellinga and Rena Van Klompenburg.
