Odean Paul Niemeyer
Odean Paul Niemeyer, 23, of Montclair, California, formerly of Rock Valley, died Thursday, April 30, in a hospital in Duarte, California, after a long illness with cancer.
Memorial services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 7, in First Reformed Church in Rock Valley, the Rev. Paul Hansen officiating. Porter
Funeral Home of Rock Valley was in charge.
Niemeyer was born March 4, 1964, in Sioux Center. He attended Rock Valley Community Schools until moving with his family in 1972 to
Montclair. He graduated from Montclair High School June 15, 1983, and later attended Chaffey College. He was employed by Joe Pack Company.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Wanda and Jim Riley of Montclair; his father, Edwin Niemeyer of Sioux City; a brother, Eugene Niemeyer aboard the USS Enterprise; two half brothers, Jon Riley at home and Ed Niemeyer, Jr. of Sioux City; a sister, Annette Niemeyer at home; two half sisters, Jolynn Riley at home and Misty Niemeyer of Sioux City; paternal grandparents, Oepke and Henrietta Niemeyer of Inwood; maternal grandparents, Paul and Jennie Kooima of Rock Valley; and paternal stepgrandparents, Dick and Ruth Smith of Park
Rapids, Minnesota.
