Died, Miss Mary McCabe on Friday, May 11, at her home seven miles northwest of Boyden of that dread disease, consumption. Death is always
sad, but it seems doubly sad in this case to see one in what might be called the morning of life, as she was about 22 years of age, so bright
and happy, cut down in a few short weeks. Interment took place at Hull Sunday and the funeral procession was one of the largest the writer ever witnessed in Sioux county. Miss
McCabe was one of Sheridan township's most popular teachers. The relatives have the sympathy of the entire community.
(Mary was born 28 Jun 1877 and died 11 may 1900 buried St. Joes cemetery Hull IA. Her father was Matthew Patrick McCabe b. 2 Sep 1842 McHenry IL, died 13 Nov 1925 Sheldon IA. Mother was Hannorah Elizabeth Weir 1853-1934. Married Sep 16, 1868 at Rochester MN. Children were Anna, Ellen, Mary, Rose, Kathryn, Theresa, Ethel and Mathew.)
