Alton Democrat May 19, 1900
Mrs. Fred Krausert died at her home in the southwest part of Alton at one o'clock Wednesday morning, after an illness of six weeks from dropsy and general debility due to old age. Deceased was born at Goldbach near Ashaffenburg Bavaria in November 1827 and was married to Fred Krausert in 1867. Of their union eight children were born, two of them in Bavaria. With her husband and two sons, Gabriel and Lawrence,
she came to this country in 1867 and settled at Davenport. In 1870 the family removed to Sioux county and settled on a farm four miles northeast of town, from which they moved to Alton in 1885. Of the family only the father—now seventy-three years old—and three sons, Gabriel,
Lawrence and Conrad, survive the wife and mother. Funeral services, conducted by Father Warzawa, were held on Friday at nine o'clock from
St. Mary's church.
