Mrs. J . H. Vermeer
Dies Here Sunday After Long Illness
Funeral services were held at the First Reformed church here at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for Mrs. J. H. (Anne) Vermeer, 69, longtime resident of this vicinity, who died here Sunday morning at the home of her son, Harvey J., after a lingering illness with cancer.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Harry Brower and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery under the direction of the Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home.
A brief service was held at 1:00 p.m. at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home preceding the service at the church.
Mrs. Anne Vermeer was born January 21, 1890, in Sioux Center. On February 2, 1911, she married Jacob H. Vermeer. To this union were born three children.
Survivors include the three children: Rev. Henry J. Vermeer of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Dorothy Addison of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Harvey J. of Sioux Center; six grandchildren; three brothers, Gerrit J. and William of Orange City, Henry W. of Sioux Center, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Huisman, of Orange City.
Her husband, one grandchild, Jacklin Hale, and three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Te Slaa, Mrs. Gertrude Vande Berg and Mrs. Cynthia Mulder, preceded her in death.
