Mrs. Waldo C. McCuddin, 83, of Hawarden, a former Sioux City resident, died June 2 at the Hawarden hospital of a long illness.

Services were at 11 a.m., June 5 in the Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel in Sioux City. The Rev. Robert D. Butler of the First United Methodist Church officiated and the Morningside Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star conducted a ceremony. There were additional services and burial in Chula Vista, Calif.

Mrs. McCuddin, the former Edna A. Cook, was born Dec. 12, 1892 in Union County, S.D. She was married in 1913 in Sioux City. Mr. McCuddin, who died in San Diego, Calif., in 1958 was a Sioux City architect and one of the founders of Morningside Lodge 615 of the AF & AM. He designed the Masonic Temple located at Ninth & Nebraska streets.

Mrs. McCuddin lived in California until 1969, when she moved to Hawarden. She was charter member and a 50 year member of the Morningside Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Shirley) Toneck of San Diego, Calif; two sisters, Mrs. J. E. (Goldie) Foltz of Hawarden and Mrs. C. B. (Sylvia) Chilton of Sioux City; two grandsons and four great grandchildren.
