Arthur H. Anderson, 85, of Alcester died Aug. 3 in a Sioux Falls hospital after a long illness.

Services were at 10 a.m., Aug. 6, in the Nathanael Lutheran Church at Alcester. The Rev. Robert Lundgren officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Alcester under direction of the Wass Funeral Home.

Mr. Anderson was born March 21, 1891 in Hawarden. The family moved to a farm northeast of Alcester when he was six years old. He married Laura Anderson, Feb. 18, 1914 in Alcester. Since their marriage, the couple farmed in the Alcester area until 1973 when they moved into the community.

Survivors include the widow; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Thompt of Alcester; and several nieces and nephews.
