John Van Iperen of three and a half miles southwest of Hospers died Wednesday morning at four o'clock from consumption at the age of fortysix years. Deceased, who had been a
resident of Sioux county for twenty-eight years, was a man of considerable property having 240 acres in one farm.. He leaves an aged mother
past eighty years and two children, a boy a nd a girl whose mother died at the birth of the younger one some six or seven years ago. Deceased
had been sick for about nine months from the dread disease which is the same that carried away his brother, Albert who went South for his health three years ago. Funeral services were held at the house yesterday morning at nine o'clock and later at the Reformed church in Hospers,where the body was interred.
(John Van Iperen born 1856 in the Netherlands, son of Bastain Van Iperen and Hillgje Vanden Berg married Aug 26, 1889 at Hopsers to Neeltje Van Iperen dau of Pieter Van Iperen and Neeltje Tome/Tom or even Groom as maiden names were noted. John's wife Neeltje died after child birth of their youngest child Bastain born 1892. John and his brother Albert both died of comsumption which was TB. John's mother, Hillgje, was noted as taking care of his two children Neeltje 9 and Bastian 8 in 1900. She had 2 living children at the time. One was Mrs W. Swart of Edgerton MN.)
