AGE: 67 years, 5 months, 25 days

Albert was born November 10,1926, at Hull, the son of James and Rocina (De Boer) Van Gorp. He was raised at Hull, where he attended school. He then farmed at Hull and served
in the United States Army during the Korean War. On June 15, 1951, he married Dorothy Westra at Boyden. He was engaged in farming and trucking in the Matlock and Sheldon area. Mrs Van Gorp passed away August 30,1978, at Sheldon. On May 30, 1981, he married Bertha "Bert" Roetman at Sioux
Center. They made their home at Sheldon. He was a member of Bethel Reformed Church, where he had served as a deacon on the consistory and belonged to the Mens Brotherhood. He was also a member of the Boyden American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; daughter and her husband, Jolene and Roger Miedema. of Raleigh. North Carolina; five sons and their wives, Robert and Norma and Etwin and Belvia, all of Sheldon; David and Jane of Orange City: and Daniel and Sherri and John and Anna, all of Sheldon; three stepchildren, Lyle Roetman and Karen Roetman, both of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Loren Roetman, and his wife, Janice, of Mesa Arizona; twenty grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three brothers, Marvin. of Hospers; Earl, of Montevideo, Minnesota;
and Philip, of Boyden; and two sisters, Lois Rensink and Eunice Vander Weide, both of Orange City.
In addition to his first wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson.
