Mr. Jake P. Hoekstra of Maurice, Iowa, passed away suddenly December 29, 1972 of a heart attack. Funeral services were held at 1:30 Jan. 1, 1973 at the Maurice Ref. Church with the Rev. Gary Van Koevering officiating. Burial was at the Sherman Township Cemetery of Maurice.

Mr. Hoekstra was born May 9, 1915. He married Gladys De Jager of Maurice on January 18, 1939. He was a lifetime resident of Maurice and was engaged in farming and carpenter work.

Survivors are Russell of Calif.- Harold of Orange City, Glenda (Mrs. John Van Veldhuizen) of Schaller, IA; Larry of Orange City, Marlene, (Mrs. Gary Heerde) of Sheldon and Randy at home. Also, 3 sister, Mrs. Bob (Gert) Ver Mulm of Alton, Mrs. Al (Alydia) Dekker of Orange City and Mrs. Herman (Marion) Wassenaar of Massy Rock, Wash.; Harry and Ellsworth of Maurice, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant daughter, Pallbearers were Nick Draayer, Henry Huisman, Marion Van Peursem, Dick Kluis Bob Vander Meide and John Bergsma,
