Mrs. Jake Hoekstra, 82, of Orange City died Monday at her home in Orange City. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the First Reformed Church. The Revs. Cecil B. Martens and Frank Snuttjer officiated. Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery under direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.

Mrs. Hoekstra, the former Tillie Nydam, was born June 29, 1898, in the Netherlands. She came to the United States with her father at age 20.She was married Feb. 20, 1924. They farmed in the area until 1960 when they retired and moved to Orange City. She was a member of the First Reformed Church.

Survivors include the widower; one sister, Mrs. Sam Faber of Orange City; and two stepbrothers, Jake and Tony Huizenga, both of Orange City.
