SAD DEATH OF YOUNG MOTHER
Eagle Township Lady Died Sunday Night at Hull
Mrs. Cornelius Haverhals Passed Away After Operation.--Leaves Husband and Two Children

Mrs. Cornelius Haverhals of Eagle township passed away at the hospital at Hull late Sunday evening following an operation for appendicitis which was performed several days prior to her death. Her appendix had broken prior to the operation and the infection had so spread through her system that she was unable to throw off the poison and death ensued. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Christian Reformed church at Lebanon with Rev. Wm. Kok in charge. Burial was in the family lot at Lebanon.

Kate Kooi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Remko Kooi, was born on the Kooi farm near Lebanon, in Garfield township, Feb. 15, 1902, so was but a few months past 25 years of age. She received her early education and grew to womanhood in Garfield township where on Jan. 30, 1923, she was united in marriage with Cornelius Haverhals, of the same community. Following their marriage they located on a farm in Eagle township where their two children, Cornelius Jr. and Geraldine, were born.

Besides her sorrowing husband and two little motherless children, she leaves to mourn her untimely death her mother, Mrs. R. Kooi, three sisters, Mrs. Peter Haverhals, Mrs. Gerrit Vander Lugt and Miss Jennie Kooi, and five brothers, Ben, Fred, John, George and Ellis Kooi, all residing in Eagle and Garfield townships.

Mrs. Haverhals was affiliated with the Christian Reformed church of Lebanon and was ever faithful and zealous in the work of the church. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the members of the family in their deep sorrow.
