Barlow, also of Gillette, motored here and attended the services* which were held at the Ross Funeral home at 2:30 Saturday afternoon with Rev. T. H. Harding in charge. Mary Storie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Storie, early Hawarden residents, was born in Dane county, Wis., Feb. 16, 1866. Before her marriage to Wilfred Louis Heald in Hawarden Oct. 19, 1886, she taught school. The early married life of this couple was spent in Sioux City and at Gann Valley, S. D. Later they lived at Royal, Neb. To this union, were born eight children, two of whom, one son and a daughter, passed away in infancy.

Her husband died in 1922 and since then she made her home at Gillette, Wyo., where several of her children reside. The children who survive her are: Mrs. Wm. Schurer, Struble; Major Robert S. Heald, Silver Springs, Md.; Willis G. Heald, Philmouth, Ore.; Mrs. L. C. Barlow, Archie L. and George D. Heald, Gillette, Wyo. There are 13 grandchildren.

Mrs. Heald was a loyal member of the Presbyterian church, the Sunday school and Ladies' Circle and was also a member of the W. C. T. U., members of whom attended the funeral services in Gillette in a body. Her life had been very active up to the time of her final illness. After leaving Hawarden about 40 years ago Mrs. Heald made frequent visits here and thus kept her friendships renewed.
