LUETTA J. OOLMAN
Mrs. Luetta Oolman, age 79, of Orange City, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2007, at the Prairie View Home in Sanborn.
There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, December 11, at 10:30am, at the Redeemer United Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Ralph Pontier will officiate. Interment will follow at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.
Luetta Jean was born on November 2, 1928, in Orange City, the daughter of Arie and Lucy (De Jong) Noteboom. She was raised at Orange City, where she attended the Northwestern Classical Academy.
On August 25, 1948, she married Glenn Eugene Oolman in Orange City. They farmed northwest of Orange City, where she was a homemaker. Glenn passed away on June 30, 1985.
Luetta continued to live on their farm, and she also assisted in the kitchen at the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City for several years.
In December of 2006, she became a resident of the Heritage House in Orange City. In January of 2007, she transferred to the Prairie View Home.
Mrs. Oolman was a member of the Redeemer United Reformed Church. She enjoyed living in the country and gardening, especially plants and flowers. She looked forward to family gatherings, and she liked having her children and grandchildren living nearby.
Survivors include her six children and their spouses, Roger and Helen Oolman, Dennis and Patricia Oolman, Sondra and Rodney De Groot, Douglas and Marjorie Oolman, and Jane and Harlan Wielenga, all of Orange City; and Robert and Jeanine Oolman, of Alton; 26 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; four brothers and their wives, Thomas and Elinor Noteboom and Vernon and Carol Noteboom, all of Orange City; Arie and Mary Noteboom, of Alton; and Ronald and Joanne Noteboom, of Orange City; and a sister-in-law, Leona Noteboom, of Orange City.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Noteboom.
