MARK RODENBURGH, 60
Mr. Mark Rodenburgh passed away at his home on Sunday evening, February 17, 1952 following a lingering illness due to cancer, He had been ailing for about two years and submitted to three major operations at the hospital at Iowa City in the early part of 1951. He became seriously ill about four weeks ago.
Mr. Rodenburgh was born in the Netherlands, and came to America with his mother on March 23,1912. They made their home in Perkins and later moved to Sioux Center where he spent all the rest of his days, passing away at the age of 60 years, 2 months, 27 days. He worked with the railroad for 28 years prior to his illness.
Mr. Rodenburgh always took an interest in public affairs and never missed a chance to vote at every election. He was much respected by all who knew him. On June 30, 1939, he was united
in marriage to Miss Elizabeth De Mots who now survives.
He is further survived by the following brothers and sisters: Johannas Rodenburgh, the Netherlands; Mrs. Elizabeth Vander Steen, Leota, Minn., Mrs. Johanna Wynia, Sioux Center; Mrs. Dora Ruiter, Hull; and Leonard Rodenburgh, Leota, Minn.; and one half-sister: Mra; S.
Visser, the Netherlands. One sister, Mrs. Dick Ruiter, preceded him in death in 1943, and two
brothers and one sister died in infancy. Funeral arrangements were by the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home.
