SIOUX CENTER, Iowa - Bonnie Johnson, 79, of Sioux Center died Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at Roy ale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center.
Private family grave side services will be held Friday in Dawson Township Cemetery, rural Paton, Iowa . Arrangements are under the direction Memorial Funeral Home Sioux Center.
Bonnie Jean (Powell) Johnson was born in Green County, near Paton, Iowa, on May 1, 1928, to Harry and Berniece (Miller) Powell. She was raised and educated near Farnhamville, Iowa.
On Aug. 10, 1947, she married Lowell Carr in Gowie, Iowa. The couple settled in Bloomington, Minn., however, later divorced. While living in Bloomington, over the years,, she worked for various employers. She most enjoyed a period of time in which she owned and operated a candy
store located in an office complex in Edina, Minn. She met and later married A Dale Johnson on May 1, 1971
Dale preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 2005. The couple lived in the Minneapolis areas as well as, Chicago, Kansas City, San Diego and Las Vegas. In 1994, they moved to Sioux Center to live near her son and daughter-in-law and grandchildren. She lived at Crown Pointe Retirement Center until November 2006 when she entered the nursing home. She was known as an out
standing cook; and truly enjoyed entertaining friends.
Survivors include her son and his wife, Brian and Sue Carr of Sioux Center; three grandchildren, Tonya, Adair} and Mandy Carr; a sister and her husband, Betty and Gene Bauer of Sioux Center; a step-daughter, Diane Johnson of Chaska, Minn.; two stepsons and their wives, Donley and Sherry Johnson of Cologne! Minn., and Brad and Mary Johnson of Eden Prairie J Minn.; step- grandchildren Christopher and Anna Johnson, Terrie and James McBrida and Sherrie
Rauschendorfer.
