BAUNE, BONEKAMP, FRANTZEN

Karl Baune, for many years a resident of the Alton vicinity, died at his home here Saturday morning after an illness of six months. He was 68 years he was born at Olenburg on September 16th, 1868. He cane to the United State with his parents when he was twelve years of age. The family settled in eastern Iowa at Petersburg.

When grown to manhood he came west to Remsen where he farmed for six or eight years. He was married to Miss Anna Bonekamp of Remsen and six children were born to the union, of whom three survive, namely, Henry of Wabasso, MN; Andrew of Alton; Mary, Mrs. Lawrence Schwarz of Slayton MN.

Mrs. Baune passed on 27 years ago and a few years later he married Miss Christina Frantzen of Alton. The couple farmed near Alton for some years, moving to town a few years ago. The three children born to this union are Cletus, Marina and Xaveria. Besides his wife and six chldren, Nine grandchildren survive, Mr. Baune also a brother three years his senor, Henry Baune of Wabasso, MN. who is the sole survivor of the family, two sisters and a brother having passed on within the past two years.

Mr. Baune was an upright citizen a good husband and father, genial and kindly so that all who knew him were his friends and he will be missed by many.

Requiem high mass was held Monday morning at St. Mary's church in charge of the pastor Rev. M. A. Schemel, Rev. Rick of Le Mars and Rev. Huewe of Granville. Interment was in St. mary's cemetery.
