Nelson Kots, 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kots of Maurice was accidentally killed last
Friday while discing. Shortly after dinner, his father who was working at one of the neighbors, noticed that Nelson’s team stood still for a long time in the field. Thinking that something might be wrong, he drove over there and found his son dead, pinned beneath the disc with one leg badly cut. Nelson for some years had been suffering from epilepsy and it is thought his accident was due to one of these spells and that he bled to death. He is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Kots. He was born on a farm, near Maurice on April 23, 1917. Surviving him are his parents, 5 brothers, Orvil of Hollandale, Calif.; Lloyd, Virgil, Marvin and Darwin, and 4 sisters, La Verna, Lorna, Marjorie and Helen, all at home. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the First Reformed church and interment was made in the Maurice cemetery. The Sioux County Capital, Thursday, April 9, 1942 Orange City, Iowa
