ALBERT KOSTER.
Albert Koster, for a number of years a resident of Hospers and surrounding territory, passed away at his home Monday evening at 10:20 p. m. on Aug. 24, 1942. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday afternoon Aug. 27 at 2:00 p. m. from the First Ref. church with Rev. G. Docter officiating. Interment was in the Alton cemetery. Six of the deceased friends acted as pallbearers, namely John Van Rooy en Peter Schuller, Fred Vander Naald, Henry Stoll sr., Nick Hulst and A. Jacobs. Albert Koster was born Jan. 6, 1872, as the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jan Koster at Drenthe, Netherlands. On Aug. 1903 he was united in marriage to Miss Fannie Vollink at Archer and continued to reside in the Archer and Sheldon community before coming to Hospers. Mr. and Mrs. Koster were the parents of 6 children, 3 children passed away in infancy. The 3 children left to mourn his departure are Allie, Mrs. Harry Te Grootenhuis; Tena at home and John of Hospers vicinity. Also 4 grandchildren, 2 brothers, Charles of Everett, Wash, and John of Sheldon. Mr. Koster had been in failing health for some time. Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Balster and daughter Anne of Maple Lake, Minn., Luke Vollink and son Herman of Rock Valley, Mr. and Mrs. Marinus Vollink of Archer, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Cooper of Mattock and Mr. an Mrs Jake Palevae of Sheldon and John Koster and family of Sheldon.
