WELL KNOWN HOSPERS FOLK PASS BEYOND.
The Hospers community was shocked last Wednesday evening by news of the death of John Landhuis at the Le Mars hospital. He had undergone an operation for gallstones and a very serious condition, from which he failed to recoverm was found. Mr. Landhuis was born in the Netherlands and came here from the old country, taken up baking as his occupation, having learned the trade in the old country. Asthma forced him to give up the work, and he turned to the barber trade at which he has been very successful for many years here. He is survived by the widow and one daughter, four brothers and one sister. Hosts of friends mourn his departure and the entire community extends sympa-thy to the bereaved family. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Reformed church of which he was devote member. Rev. Stegeman, the pastor, officiated. assisted by Rev. Douwstra of Hull and Rev. Dykstra of Orange City, both former pastors. Interment was made at the cemetery west of town.
Mr. Landhuis was 67 years of age and for many years had been a highly respected citizin of this community, a great influence for good and one whose counsel was often sought(*?) by friends. He will be greatly missed
