RICHARD WARNTJES
Richard A. Warntjes, 72, of rural Sioux Center, died Sunday, March 30, at a Sioux Falls, S.D. hospital following a long illness. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with the Rev. Dr. Thurman Rynbrandt officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Sioux Center under the direction of the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
Mr. Warntjes was born Nov. 8, 1907, at Sioux Center. He lived in the Sioux Center, Hull and Boyden, Iowa, areas as a young man. He married Lillian Kempers of Sioux Center, Oct. 9, 1935. They farmed near Sioux Center.
He is survived by the widow; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Anna Mae) Horstman of Sioux Center, Mrs. Ernest (Ruth) Moss of Hull, Mrs. Richard (Maxine) Lampe of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Mrs. William L. (Luella) Johnson of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, John of Hull and Walter of Boyden; one sister, Mrs. John (Henrietta) Westra of Hull; and nine grandchildren.
