Marion Wissink passed away Wednesday morning in Sioux Center at the age of 78 years. He was born on December 27, 1921, in Sioux Center to
Henry and Winnie (Van Putten) Wissink. He married Gerdena Koerselman on August 12, 1948, in Sioux Center. He enjoyed working with wood and
was a carpenter for De Stigter Bros. Construction Co. for 45 years. He loved music and sang in church choirs and previously played trumpet in the church orchestra and city band. He was a lifetime member of the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gerdena of Sioux Center; four children and their spouses: Mary and Art Zeilenga of Sioux Center, Iowa; Darwin and Carol Wissink of Niwot, Colorado; Darrell and Patty Wissink of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Rhonda and Ron Wheeler of Johnstown, Colorado; eleven grandchildren; one brother, Bill and his wife, Rolena Wissink of Ankeny, Iowa; and three sisters: Gertrude Wissink, Everly Popovich and Winona Jansen, all of Sioux Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
