Albert Huygens died at his home near Newkirk on Sunday after a short sickness of pneumonia and pleurisy. Deceased was born in Roseland Illinois on October 9th, 1881. Soon afterwards his parents moved to Sioux county. Shortly after arriving in Sioux county, the father of the family died. In 1905 deceased was united in marriage to Miss Gertrude Den Hartog. This union was blessed with four children---Henrietta, John, James and Adrian, all of whom survive. Albert Huygens was a fine character and was popular and his host of friends mourn his untimely death and the young widow and children have the sincere sympathy of the entire community. Deceased is also survived by his mother, a brother, Adrian Huygens, and a half brother and half sister, John Kamstra and Henrietta Kamstra. The funeral services were held on Wednesday from the Reformed church at Newkirk. The services were conducted by Rev. R. D. Douwstra. Interment was made in the Newkirk cemetery.

HOSPERS:
Bert Huygens of Newkirk passed away on Sunday after a short but severe siege of lung fever and pleurisy. The funeral services were held on Wednesday, a number from Hospers attending. This death is an extremely sad one. Mr. Huygens was only 31 years old. He leaves a young widow and four small children besides a host of friends to mourn his loss.
