Mrs. Henry Werley Died at 64, Rites Held Sunday

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Werley, 64, who died at her home in Elgin township Thursday after suffering a stroke, were held at the Grace Lutheran church in LeMars

Mrs. Werley was born May 23, 1887 at Mechanicsville, Iowa, the daughter of Fredrick and Sophia Lehrman Siege. She came to Plymouth county with her family in 1926 and lived in the Seney vicinity. Her marriage to Henry Werley took place Sept. 23, 1941 at St. John's Lutheran church in Reading township, Sioux county.

Survivors include her husband, a step daughter, Mrs. Frank Utech, Heron Lake, Minn.; a brother, Henry Siege of Maurice, and four sisters, Mrs. Clara Schwier, Sioux City; Mrs. Henry Franke, Ireton: Mrs. Lena Mueller, Maurice; and Mrs. Arthur Henry, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Lowell Olson of North Dakota, although not related, was raised in her home.

She was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran church near Ireton March 31, 1901, and was a member of the Grace Lutheran church and Grace Lutheran ladies aid since 1944. Burial was in the LeMars cemetery. The Rev. Harry H. Meyer conducted the final rites, and arrangements were made by Mauer funeral home.
