Early Resident Of Sioux, Union Counties Dies

Funeral Services for Mrs. Jerry Henry, 85, to Be Held in City Friday Afternoon.

Mrs. Jerry Henry, 85, an early day resident of Sioux county and Union county, died at the home of her son, Ervin Henry in Hawarden at 10 o'-clock Monday night. Mrs. Henry had been ill a. number of months. Last Friday she suffered a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Friday afternoon at -the Barnard Funeral home and at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church with Rev. W. V. Bell of Paulina in charge, assisted by Rev. Milton M. Schaper. Burial will be, in Grace Hill cemetery.

Ida Caroline Bragg was born at Edinburg, Pa., October 23, 1861, and grew to womanhood in that vicinity. She was- married .to Jeremiah Henry at McKean, Pa., February 14, 1884. After her marriage she lived in the east several years and then went to Akinson, Nebr., where she lived seven years. Later she came to Union county and lived on a farm southeast of Hawarden.

In 1901 she moved onto a farm in Union county, four miles west of Hawarden.

She lived on this-farm 42 years. Three years ago she came to Hawarden with her son. .
She was the .mother of seven children, three of whom died in infancy. A daughter Mrs. Fred Peterson, died in 1927. Her husband preceded her in death October 3, 1930. She was- the last member of a family of six children.

She is survived by two sons, Ervin Henry of Hawarden and Merton Henry of Alcester, and a daughter, Mrs. Newton Tiller of Bellevue, Nebr., grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Hawarden Methodist church and when her health permitted was a regular attendant.
