Effie Henning, 80, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Hull with the Rev. Robert Fedde officiating.

Henning was born July 8, 1914, in Nieuwkoop, The Netherlands, the daughter of Leonard and Marie (Van Dyk) Burggraaff. She attended school through the eighth grade in The Netherlands. In 1928, the family moved to the United States and settled in the Boyden area. She married Robert G. Henning Sept. 29,1937, in Boyden.

They lived all their married life in the Boyden area. She was a nurse's aide. Since the fall of 1980, she was very involved with the Foster Grandparent program at Hope Haven.

Mrs. Henning was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the Ladies' Circle. She was also a Cub Scout den mother

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Rudy and Linda of Whitewood, S.D., Len and Pat of Yorba Linda Calif., and Jim and De of Sioux City; a brother, Richard Burggraaff of Pipestone, Minn.; a. sister, Wilminia Kooiker of Hull; 10 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son, Robert; an infant grandson, Travis; an infant great-granddaughter, Savannah; and two ofbrothers, John and Arie.
