Henrietta De Leeuw, 87, of Orange City died Saturday, March 15, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.
Services were at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 17, at First Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Steven Vander Molen officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. De Leeuw was born August 3, 1909, in Hull, the daughter of William & Jenny (Jansma) Claerbout. She was raised in Hull.
She married Jacob De Leeuw on October 4, 1928, in Hull. The couple farmed near Hull for four years and then moved to a farm near Middleburg where they lived for 42 years. They retired into Orange City in 1974. He died February 14, 1986 in Orange City. She became a resident of the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City in August 1991.
She was a member of First Reformed Church and a circle of the church. In earlier years, she had been an active member of Free Grace Reformed Church in Middleburg.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Edgar & Janet of Ellsworth, MN; a daughter, Joan Van't Hof of Orange City; a sister Wilma Boer of Idyllwood, CA; six grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Lloyd Van't Hof; three sisters, Angeline Stientjes, Florence Kuipers and Winifred Van Schepen; and a grandson.
