Leo P. Henrich, Archer, 64, died in the Hartley Community Hospital on May 8 following a lengthy illness. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 11, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hospers. Rev. Richard Ries conducted the services. Interment was in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hospers and Fisch Funeral Home, Remsen was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Henrich was born Feb. 22, 1917, at Alton and lived there until his marriage. He lived and farmed near Archer for 30 years before his retirement in 1980 when he moved into Archer. He served in the Navy during WWII.

Mr. Henrich's parents were Mr. and Mrs. (Mathilda Kellen) Henrich. He married Luella Hansen on July 16, 1949, in Alton. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church and a past member of the advisory board. He was also a past member of the Spalding High School board and was serving his ninth year on the board of directors of the Archer Coop Grain Co. Mr. Henrich was in his 11th year as a trustee for Baker Township and is a past president of the Archer Telephone Exchange.

Survivors include his wife, Luella; a son, Dennis, Archer; a daughter, Mrs. Jody (Ann) Strait, Primghar; a brother, Francis, Kingsley; and two sisters, Mrs. Vic (Helen) Kellen, Alton, and Mrs. Bill (Anita) Stine, Las Vegas, Nev. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister who died in infancy. Pall bearers will be Dave Hansen, Doug and Pat Henrich, Carlton and Robert Kellen and Bill Schnee. Honorary bearers will be Dale De Waay, Reg Hain, Marvin Johnson, Vern Kaiser, Ben Rohwer, John Seekes.
