First Baby Born in Hull Passed Away October 3
Mrs. Ethel Hollister Roe, 82 of Pipestone, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, October 3rd, at the Ashton Memorial Hospital in Pipestone. Funeral services were held Friday.
Mrs. Roe was born in Hull on August 15, 1879, the first baby born in the town. She married John Roe in 1898 and to this union one son. John, was born, who survives. Her husband preceded her in death.
Mrs. Roe operated an Indian curio store in Pipestone for many years
(In the Hull Centennial Book 1873-1973 is an article on the first child born in Hull. Ethelyn Mae Hollister Roe was born in Hull August 15, 1879 to Mrs. and Mrs. Storre W. Hollister. In 1901 the family moved to Pipestone MN. Her husband died in 1940 Their son John remained in Pipestone.)
