Mrs. Susan P. Holmes died at the home of her son, Ira W. Holmes, in Cedar Rapids last Monday, at the advanced age of 79 years. Mrs. Holmes was quite well known to many of Hawarden's citizens, having made her home here for a time with her son when he was a resident of this city.
