Mrs. Ambrose "Bud" (Alice) Holies, 66, of Hospers died Tuesday, September 1, at her home in Hospers after a lengthy illness.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 4, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hospers with the Rev. Kevin M. Richter officiating.
Burial was in the parish cemetery. The former Alice Reuter was born January 6, 1926. in rural Hospers, the daughter of Leo and Johanna Reuter.
She was raised in the Hospers area and attended St. Anthony's Catholic School. She married Ambrose "Bud" Holies August 17, 1948, at Hospers.
The couple farmed in the Granville Hospers area. She was a waitress from 1966 until 1991 at several restaurants in Hospers and Sheldon.
They moved into Hospers in 1967 but continued to farm until 1990.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the church guild, Christian Mothers and American Legion Auxiliary of Hospers.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael of Hospers; two daughters and their husbands, Diane and Robert Fleenor of Osage and Ruth Ann and Chris Schmit of Hospers; three brothers, Jerome Reuter of Hospers, Robert Reuter of Cherokee
and Harold Reuter of East Moline, Illinois; and four sisters, Arlene Larnphere of Quincy, Illinois, Rosella Reuter of Sioux City, Jo Ann Trelnen of Fremont, Nebraska, and Viola Zenk
of Alton.
