Pluim, Aart 'Arthur' 1857-1904

At his home in east Alton Arthur Pluim passed away Wednesday afternoon at about one-thirty. For two years he had been suffering from diabetes
but of late had been feeling better and on last Saturday visited at Maurice. On Sunday he was takeen bedfast and gradually grew worse until death came to end his sufferings.
Arthur Pluim was born in Bennekom Holland on February seventh 1857. In 1883 he was married to Miss Henrietta Tissen in Holland. Twelve years ago the family came to America and have lived in Alton since with the exception of two years which they spent at Maurice. - Twelve children
were born to this union, two have died —ten at home with the mother are bereft of a husband and father.
The funeral was held this Fridayafternoon
from the First Reformed church. Neil Van Roekel a cousin of the deceased was in attendance at
the funeral.
