Mrs. Uphoff, mother of John and Peter who reside north of town, after a lingering illness of old age, died sunday morning, the funeral taking place Tuesday where the remains were taken for interment to a cemetery near George, Rev. H. Wortman and Rev. Ables officiating.
(In the 1895 census of Dale Tsp, Lyon Co. Trintje Uphoff was 76 years born in Germany. Sons John and Peter listed and also a Gerd Uphoff who was possibly another son. In the 1925 IA State census Peter was living with his dau in Sheldon and listed his parents as Rick Uphoff and Tena Arends. Peter later died in Ok.)
