Harvey Vellinga, 56, of Marshalltown, formerly of Orange City, died Thursday, December 3, at a Des Moines hospital after a brief illness.

Services were at First Congregational Church in Marshalltown Monday.

He was born May 8, 1931 at Orange City. He attended school at Orange City and graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1959. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Mary Krusen, June 29, 1957. He worked for Fisher Controls in Marshalltown for the past 15 years.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Nancy of Mission, Kansas; three sons, Dan of Boston, MA; Lane of West Des Moines, and Brent of Marshalltown; three brothers, Rodney of Orange City, John of Sioux City and Robert of State Center; two sisters, Bertha Vander Stope of Orange City, and Willma Klopfenstein of Pittsfield, MA.
