Aug. 6, 1973—July 15, 2011
Rodney Lamfers, 37, Sioux Falls, SD, died Friday, July 15, at Dougherty Hospice House in
Sioux Falls, SD.
Services were Wednesday, July, 20, at First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Falls.
Private burial was under the direction of George Boom Funeral Home of Sioux Falls. Rodney Lamfers, son of Roger and Lois Lamfers of Kanawha, was born Aug. 6, 1973. He spent his entire youth in Kanawha. Some of his fondest memories include Sunday afternoons playing together
with his parents and brothers and the annual family fishing trips. He attended Dordt College in Sioux Center, where he obtained a degree in accounting. He married Kerry Bolkema of| Sheldon on May 20,1995. They moved to Sioux Falls to begin work. He began his accounting career and remained with the same firm, which is now named Lamfers & Maas LLP. He and Kerry welcomed three beautiful daughters. While he enjoyed his work and career, his greatest joys in
life were being together as a family and family vacations. He used his talents and served in
many capacities at First Christian Reformed Church, Sioux Falls Christian Schools and Furniture
Mission of South Dakota. He was a loving husband and father. The family gives thanks to the Avera staff that cared for Rodney over the past two years.
Survivors include his wife, Kerry Lamfers of Sioux Falls, SD; three daughters, Ashley, 12, Emma, 11, and Claire, 7, of Sioux Falls; parents, Roger and Lois Lamfers of Kanawha; parents-
in-law, Harlan and Yvonne Bolkema of Sheldon; his grandmother, Nina Bolkema of Sheldon;
two brothers, Randy and Rachel Lamfers of Sioux Falls and Ronald and Renee Lamfers of Polk City; a brother-in-law, Brian and Katherine Bolkema of Prospect Park, NJ; two sisters-in- law, Lisa and Nathan Tintle of Sioux Center and Heidi and Ryan De Kruyf of Sioux Center; and nieces and nephews.
