Final Services Held Here For Miss Mattson, 68

Miss H. M. Mattson, 68, of Oil City, La., died in a hospital at Vivian, La., last Friday evening after an illness of a week.

Miss Mattson grew up in this community but had not lived here for many years. E. T. Dunlap was informed of her illness last Thursday and was called to Oil City. Miss Mattson died before he arrived at Oil City.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday at the Frazier Funeral home with Rev. D. A. Miller of Big Springs Baptist church in charge. Rev. and Mrs. Miller sang two numbers. Burial was in the family plot in Grace Hill cemetery. Funeral services were held at Oil City at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon.

Hilma Mattson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Mattson, and the only surviving member of this family, was born in Union county, S.D., December 18, 1883. After she completed her high school education in Hawarden, she went to Rapid City, S.D. She passed the bar examination in South Dakota and for a number of years was associated with a lawyer at Rapid City. About 25 years ago she went to Oil City where she engaged in the oil business, managing and directing the operation of her own oil properties. She united with the Big Springs Baptist church in her youth.

Mrs. O. O. Boyd of Oil City, La. and Mrs. B. M. Elkins of Bivins, Texas, accompanied the body to Hawarden and attended the funeral here.
