Adam Fie, Sr. died Christmas night, assumed the date to be December 25th of 1901, at his home near Hull Iowa. Reported in the Alton Democrat of Jan 4, 1902 and the Hull Index of Dec. 27, 1901, and the Dutch Sioux Center News.
(The Hull Index reported that the obit would be in the next week's issue, however the first issue in 1902 doesn't exist on microfilm. So that is sad. (See Catherine Fey's obit for more details on the family.
Adam Fie was born 1822 in Germany, died abt December 25, 1901 at his home southeast of Hull. He was married to Catherine Winch/Wench born 1836 in Germany, they married Mary 29, 1855 at Marion County OH. They were found in the 1870 census of Jefferson, Clayton, Iowa, the 1880 census of Lincoln Tsp, Sioux County IA, the 1885 census of Iowa Sioux County, and the 1900 census of 1900 Lincoln Tsp, Sioux County Iowa. Adam Fey arrived in New York 16 Aug 1852 at the age of 30, he was Prussian or German, departed from the port of Bremen, Germany. He and three other young men were headed for OH, ship was Westphalia. The names of the young men were believed to be Gottfried Lerant age 24, Arnold Wesdgeles? age 33, and Ludwig Prinz age 26. These men were pursued in the census records with out any luck at this time to determine home town in Germany. A Catherine Winch born about 1835, age 19, came from Germany on 16 Sep 1954 on the ship David Hoadley. Also found another possibility for the parents of Adam Fey Sr. on the site www.familysearch.org Simon Fey and Elisabeth Schreiber had a son Adam Fey born 18 Apr 1822 christened in the Evangelisch, Church Niederdresselndorf, Westfalen, Preussen.)
