Bobby Thomas Driggers, 69, of Maurice, Iowa died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Visitation will begin at noon Friday, with the family present from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home in Ireton. Iowa. Committal service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday beginning at the Porter Funeral Home with burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton, with Pastor Mark Haverdink officiating. The Flag presentation will be conducted by the Ireton American Legion Bertram Post #276. Bobby Thomas Driggers, the son of Robert and Ella (Stroud) Driggers, was born October 9, 1941 in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He lived and worked in North Carolina, Michigan, Arizona, Alaska, Nevada, South Dakota and Iowa. He served in the Army National Guard as a Field Artillery Expert for three years before joining the Army in 1961, and was honorably discharged in 1964.
Bobby worked as an auto mechanic for 25 years, and also worked in landscaping, auto detailing, truck driving, and retired from Wells Blue Bunny in LeMars in 2005.
He and Marty were best friends for 14 years before their marriage on August 16, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nevada. His hobbies included riding his "Harley", playing guitar and singing, flower and vegetable gardening, fishing, camping, and woodworking.
Survivors are his wife, Marsha "Marty" (Grau) Muller-Driggers of Maurice; two sons, Bobby Haynes of Michigan and Jonathan Baragar of Tennessee; a step-son, Adam Muller of Anthem, Arizona; a step-daughter, Mindee Muller of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 6 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Shelby Jean (Bob) Warehime of Finksburg, Maryland and Linda (Junior) Merritt of Winston Salem, North Carolina.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Howard, Ronald, and Pete.
