Paul Pedersen, 80, died Friday, September 23, 2011, at Hegg Memorial Hospital. Funeral Service is 10:30 am Tuesday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Rock Valley. Burial at Valley View Cemetery.
Paul was born January 21, 1931 at Liberty, Illinois, son of Chris and Pearl (Davenport) Pedersen. The Pedersen family moved to Newell, IA where Paul graduated from high school. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict 1951-53. Paul married Donna Zinn on May 20, 1951. Together they lived at Storm Lake, IA where Paul began working as a lineman for NW Bell Telephone. He continued working for NW Bell when they moved to Hull, IA in 1955 and then to Rock Valley in 1965. After retirement, Paul was a driver and aid for AEA4. Throughtout Paul's life, he was actively involved with his family, church, and community. He very seldom missed an athletic activity in Rock Valley and was an avid golfer.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 60 years, Donna; sons, Jay (Mary) Pedersen of Fairfax, IA, Ron (Renee) Pedersen of Rock Valley; daughter, Brenda Pedersen of Houston, TX; granddaughters, Erin Pedersen of Rock Valley, Chrys English of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jennie (Toby) Coulter of Des Moines, IA; great-grandchildren, Ryder, Ayden, Morgan, and Nick; brother, Jim Pedersen of Sierra Vista, AZ; sisters, Betty (Mel) Redig of Storm Lake, IA, Marian (Ken) Kinney of Sac City, IA.
